Demo 2008
Interview by CHC from Neo-Zine
1.Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do?
Hi, I m C. from North France and I created the band CosmoLoco I do evrything, instruments, vocals, recording, videos and webdesign.
2. Are there any advantages to working solo?
Yes, because the creation progress is more simple. But I m looking for musicians, I want to do some lives, it's in progress.
3. How have the reviewers been treating you (any best/ worst?)
I published some reviews on my website from different webzines, but only one is in English. They all are good.
4. Do you have any video, or do you ever plan a visual component to your music?
I made 3 videos clip: "HumanMonkeyPig", "La Grande Illusion" and "Les Anges de la Mort". I'm a beginner in this new kind of art, it's a little experimental.
5. Any particular song you would recommend for the first time listener?
Maybe "Les Anges de la Mort": it's a typical brutal CosmoLoco song.
6. How would you describe the vocal styles?
Sick
7. Tell us a little bit about your songwriting process.
Most of the time, I have a riff in my head or I play guitar to find a riff that give me the color of the song. After I make drum, bass and arrangements. At the end, I listen to the instrumental to find inspiration for the lyrics. It's a very natural process.
8. Tell us your thoughts on current political trends.
Politics are just here to persuade people they are free.
9. Is any of your work done with a sense of humor or sarcasm?
Sometimes. For example, the intro of "Le Projet Chaos" is very sarcastic about rap music.
10. What is the most important thing for people to remember about your band/ project?
CosmoLoco is French brutal art.

Deathdoom:
"Time for some gripping and brutal French Grind in the guise of Cosmoloco, the wierdly named and violently likeable band whose new release for this year sees them catapult to the fore front of your thinking with an almost techno induced style of grind that not only leaves you asking for more but will make any weaker emo being facing yet another brown trousers moment. Brutality is the key here, and this is just a demo, I can't wait to see what else this band can do!! Check out the amusing named Cosmoloco if you want to wet your pants at the sound of a truly catchy yet tremendously heavy band "

Global Domination:
"I, more so than ever before, fucking hate gore metal, gore grind, whatever. It’s a retarded style invented, performed and listened to by white thrash ready for a game called “Buried alive on a landfill”; which isn’t entirely true, all the time most bands belonging to said genre seem to emerge from South-America. Simple solution, expand the landfill and make room for a shitload of taco smelling degos. But spare Cosmoloco, for the Frenchman known as Mr C. has made a demo so fine, it’s nigh on impossible to wish upon him to have his oxygen deprived.
“Demo 2008” sets my mind to the sublime “Inventory of fixtures”, courtesy of I don’t fucking care to inform you, but French they are, and better. Anyhow, not only do both bands share citizenship, but also this feel of presence and alarm, a great slab of sickness, vocals from hell and a fat, churning buzz able to rumble demons out of their sleep. The band I refuse to tell you the name of is better on all fronts, be it songwriting or playing skills, but fucking “Demo 2008” is Cosmoloco’s first sign of life, so I’m adamant not being too hard on it. I could bash it for its inclusion of hip-hop influences, or the presence of pig-vocals, but I won’t, and that simply because both mentioned are spice and not rice. The spice added with care, in this case.
“Demo 2008” is a vicious, filthy, raw and unrestrained piece of violence, but one with enough structure, creativity and talent to avoid ending up as yet another piece of disposable, and saddening, gore nonsense. Just call Sevared Records and ask them, I’m sure they’ll agree. I’m not exactly tripping, but I honestly look forward to Mr C.‘s first “professional” release, one hopefully not more mature, only a bit more developed and on-point, and also sounding a tad better while first at it."
